Anita is revealed to the audience through a montage of close up shots which builds up expectation for the audience. 

Extreme example of the male gaze when Joe is looking at her. 

Anita has a very symmetrical face and she has no imperfections, long flowing hair - hegemonically attractive 

Sophie has her mouth open in a shocked expression in delight and Joe's expression looks like he is eyeing her up. 

Anita lives up to a racial stereotypes

Anita is so perfect she makes Laura feel threatened 

The character of Anita and her hyperreal representation deliberately challenges the audience to consider the nature of humanity  

Humans is a deeply complex and controversial tv show which targets a niche audience



Opening credits of Les Revenants:

Mise-en-scene dead deer suspended in the lake

Another death symbol is the grave with the crosses

Les Revenants is about Sex and death - binary opposition 

Complicated themes will target a niche audience 

This opening sequence is highly typical of the horror genre.

Jump scare - guy in the underpath 

soundtrack is both typical and atypical. It is unconventional to get a band to play the soundtrack esphically mogwai which is a rock band

Magazine - Next article analysis - 350ppm

Adbusters uses a lot of culture jamming by sub-verting or sabotaging mass media messages. 350ppm is talking about the amount of polution in the atmosphere. 350 is the safe level but scientists say we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 400 parts per million to below 350ppm. There is no anchorage to the image on the left hand side, no headline or subheading to tell you what they mean. This is similar to a lot of pages in the Adbusters magazine. This double page spread shows a binary opposition between the model on the left who is all glamorous and the beggar on the right siting on the ground who is homeless.
